Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation - Registration for the next cycle for online courses through the University of Dayton’s VLCFF program is now open. Certificate programs are available for catechesis, leadership in ministry, youth ministry and more! As a diocesan partner, you can register for courses at a discounted cost of $50 for 5-week sessions and $40 for 3-week seminars. English and Spanish courses are available. All courses in the VLCFF can be used to help with the Catechist Formation Process. Courses begin October 24. Preparing for Confirmation/first Holy Communion at Cathedral - A reminder about dio.org/confirmation. The website has information and videos explaining why the sacraments of confirmation and first holy Communion are at the Cathedral, what children can expect that day, why parents see the value in the trip to Cathedral, a video series explaining the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit that is good for both parents and children, and other resources. Please utilize these as you prepare children for the sacrament and their trip to Springfield.

World Mission Sunday: This year’s World Mission Sunday (October 23) theme is: “You shall be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8) We are celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Propagation of the Faith, started by Pauline Jaricot. Donation from World Mission Sunday go to support mission priests, Religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay pastoral leaders who proclaim the Gospel, give witness to our Lord, and respond to the greatest need of vulnerable communities in the Pope’s missions. Victorious Missionaries Fall Treat: Victorious Missionaries is a spiritual support group for people with disabilities or who were chronically ill. Its purpose is to encourage those with disabilities to reach out to others with disabilities, sharing their gifts and spreading the Good News of the Gospel. Fall Retreat: Oct 21-23, 2022. Walking with Moms in Need: Our diocese will be joining USCCB and other dioceses in a national effort called Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service. Parishes are encouraged to participate in this year-long initiative to assess needs of pregnant and parenting moms of young children in our parishes and our neighborhoods and improve communication about resources available to these local pregnant moms and families in need.
