Parish Grant Program - The parish grant program from the Religious Education and Catechist Formation Endowment funded by the Harvest of Thanks, Springtime of Hope campaign is now taking applications for the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Two grant programs are available for parish use – the Catechist Formation Grant and Media & Enrichment Materials Grant. The deadline for submitting proposals is March 31, 2022. Early submission is encouraged so any deficiencies on the application can be corrected prior to this deadline. Formation Opportunity - On March 19, St. Mary, Alton is sponsoring a one-day retreat on the theme “Finding Freedom from Discouragement: Practical Guidelines” from St. Ignatius of Loyola, presented by Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV. In our current circumstances, many of us struggle with discouragement. In fourteen practical guidelines, St. Ignatius of Loyola offers invaluable aid toward understanding this struggle, finding freedom from such discouragement, and living our daily spiritual lives with joy. In this retreat, Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV, will explore these guidelines and apply them to our experience through concrete examples. The retreat will include talks, Mass, opportunities for Confession, and time for questions. The retreat is from 9 AM to 3:30 PM and includes Mass, Adoration and lunch. $25 per person (automatically includes virtual access), payable by cash or check, $10 Virtual Only.
